Lab Report Analysis Reflection

This was the fourth reflection of the course. These questions enriched me personally and academically while learning about motorcycles, which was the topic I investigated. My response is shown as a paragraph below the questions.

Have you done similar type of writing in the past?
How much did you know about the subject before we started?
What problems did you encounter while you were working on this piece? How did you solve them?
Did you have any trouble finding lab reports or navigating the library databases?
Did you research the way the librarian instructed? In what ways was your research process similar or different?
Did you have trouble identifying the rhetorical situations in the lab reports? How were the lab reports different from the textbook?
What would you change if you had a chance to do this piece over again.

I have not done a similar type of writing in the past. I did not know much about the subject before we started; I just enjoyed motorcycles superficially. The problems I encountered while I was working on this piece were understanding the table data from both sources. I solved them by reading them repeatedly and making analogies in my head to ensure my understanding. I did have trouble finding lab reports because, at first glance, they seemed to use data that I could not understand at all. The sources were either extremely dense or extremely extensive. Navigating the library databases was not an issue at all. I did research the way the librarian instructed. My research was similar. Nevertheless, I solely searched “Motorcycle” to broaden the options available. I did have trouble identifying the rhetorical situations in the lab reports. The lab reports were different from the textbook because some sections were merged into each other, and they were not explicitly labeled in some parts. I would not change anything if I had a chance to do this piece over again in terms of the content. Nonetheless, I could improve in some vocabulary that I used in the piece.
